Program Administration

The Austria-Illinois Exchange Program, founded in 1971, is sponsored by the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and directed by University of Illinois faculty. This program is supervised on-site by a University of Illinois resident director and administrative assistant. In addition to teaching the program's core courses, the director and assistant organize the various program activities, provide liaison to Austrian institutions, and in general assist students during their sojourn abroad.

The Austrian universities participating in the program in Vienna are the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Vienna, the Technical University, and the University of Agricultural Sciences. Students may enroll in courses at each of these universities. Classes are also available at the Academy of Music and Fine Arts, the Academy of Fine and Applied Art, and the Translator's Institute.
