Study Abroad

Health Insurance

Participants in the Program are provided with the same health benefits that are available to Austrian students, i.e. medical, optical, dental, and prescription drug expenses. Medical care is readily available and easily managed with no out-of-pocket expenses for most claims. The insurance covers on- and off-campus activities. Program fees include the cost for this insurance, which begins shortly after arrival in September for academic-year and fall-semester participants and in February for spring-semester students.

Students are also automatically enrolled in the University's Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI) policy for students abroad. This coverage is intended primarily for claims relating to healthcare received prior to becoming eligible for the coverage described above. It also is valuable for the time immediately post- Program period when the Austrian health insurance is no longer valid.
