TODAY: “The Fruchtbringende Gesellschaft” of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures presents a talk by Professor Dr. Gerhard Lauer from the Universität Göttingen. Professor Lauer will speak on “Das Erdbeben von Lissabon und die Katastrophensemantik des 18. Jahrhunderts” on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 5:15 pm in Lucy Ellis Lounge (1st floor, FLB). Peter A. Michalove is teaching a course on the music of Stravinsky this fall at the university's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
WEEKLY DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES
This semester, the Deutsche Konversationsgruppe will meet on Wednesdays from 1-3 PM in the cafe of the new Institute for Genomic Biology. The IGB is the first building east of the Morrow Plots, and the cafe is in the downstairs level on the west side of the building.
This semester, the Swedish Coffee Hour will meet at 5pm on Fridays at the Espresso Royale Cafe on Goodwin and Oregon.
