UPCOMING EVENTS

Regine Kroh will be presenting her work at the “Deutsches Seminar,” the departmental graduate student research forum. Regine will talk on “Tension Within Memory - Photography and Memory in the Reunified (?) Germany” on Thursday, October 29 at 5:15 PM in FLB, G-18.

The German Story Time at the Urbana Free Library will take place on Saturday, November 7th at 11am (210 W Green St. Urbana). There will be stories, music, and arts and crafts! Children of all ages and ability levels and their families are encouraged to come!

PRESENTATIONS

Professor Anke Pinkert gave the keynote on “How to Create Change Twenty Years After the Fall of the Wall: Film, Autobiography, Pedagogy” at the III. Foreign Language Film Conference, Southern Illinois University, October 22-24, 2009.

WEEKLY DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES

This semester, the Deutsche Konversationsgruppe will meet on Wednesdays from 1-3 PM in the cafe of the new Institute for Genomic Biology. The IGB is the first building east of the Morrow Plots, and the cafe is in the downstairs level on the west side of the building.

This semester, the Swedish Coffee Hour will meet at 5pm on Fridays at the Espresso Royale Cafe on Goodwin and Oregon.
