On Monday, February 23, Professor Karen Schönwälder (Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious & Ethnic Diversity, Göttingen, Germany) will give a lecture on “Multiculturalism & Immigrant Integration: Political Debates & Social Realities,” at the Center for Advanced Studies at 12 noon.


Fulbright deadlines:
March 1 is the opening of the Traditional Fulbright Scholar competition. Over 800 grants are available for lecturing, conducting research, or combining both in over 130 countries around the globe. Weekly Departmental Activities

The IPRH Reading Group "Language and Social Interaction" will hold its weekly data sessions this semester on alternating Fridays and Tuesdays. The Deutsche Konversationsgruppe will be meeting this semester on Wednesdays from 1-3 at the Bread Company on Goodwin Avenue. Come by for a relaxed opportunity to practice German. All levels are welcome. Contact:

The Middle High German reading group is getting together Fridays from 1-2 in the departmental library to enjoy various gems of Middle High German literature or at least textual material. All are welcome, levity is assured.
