PRESENTATIONS

Professor Mara R. Wade presented "Simplicissimus—Five Ways: Pairing Primary and Secondary Sources," in a roundtable on "Teaching the Early Modern Period" at the MLA in Philadelphia.

Professor Anna Westerstahl Stenport presented the paper "Currents: August Strindberg's Creditors" at the Modern Language Association conference in Philadelphia, Dec 27-30, 2009. The paper was presented in a panel she organized, called 'Manipulations of Space and Time in Scandinavian Modern Drama.'

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Professor Anna Westerstahl Stenport has been appointed a Beckman Fellow as part of a Center for Advanced Study award 2010-11 (pending University of Illinois Board of Trustee's approval).

Professors Laurie Johnson and Anna Stenport were selected to serve on the Advisory Board of the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory.

Professor Anna Westerstahl Stenport has been elected a member of the MLA Delegate Assembly for the period 2010-2013.

Professor Mara Wade was elected president of the Society for German Renaissance and Baroque Literature.
