Scandinavian Program

Activities

Scandinavian Coffee Hour

Students and faculty involved in the Scandinavian Program regularly get together during the semesters for informal conversation. The Coffee Hour gives students an opportunity to practice speaking a modern Scandinavian language in a relaxed environment, to get to know others who share their interest in Scandinavia, and to hear not only the language they are studying, but also the other modern Scandinavian languages. Please contact Anna Westerstahl Stenport for information about meeting times: aws@illinois.edu.

Research and Scholarly Presentations

Faculty, graduate students, and visiting scholars regularly contribute with talks and presentations on Scandinavian-related topics. For information about current events, please see the calendar of the School of Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics or contact Anna Westerstahl Stenport: aws@illinois.edu.

Lucia Celebration

The Scandinavian Program usually puts on a Lucia celebration at the end of fall semester, attended by students, faculty, and members of the community with an interest in Scandinavia. Please contact Anna Westerstahl Stenport for more information: aws@illinois.edu
